Job summary

Ethos is seeking a senior accountant to help train our language model on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks. You will own close reconciliations, audit support, and PBC documentation while refining AI-generated outputs.

You’ll work 5–20 hours per week on a fully remote basis, starting ASAP. Strong GAAP knowledge and expert spreadsheet skills are essential, along with precise written communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in corporate accounting, financial operations, or internal/external audit support, with hands-on ownership of close reconciliations and audit request schedules.
• Deep fluency in GAAP, PBC documentation standards, and spreadsheet-based control testing (Excel/Google Sheets, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros)
• Expert-level document, spreadsheet, and slide craftsmanship, with excellent written communication and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Train AI models on professional documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
• Create, evaluate, and refine AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks across core workflows.
• Manage monthly close reconciliations and journal entry packages.
• Prepare audit request schedules and PBC documentation.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable aging reports.
• Summarize budget-to-actual variances.
• Conduct internal control walkthroughs and SOX testing memos.
• Audit vendor and expense trails in spreadsheets.
