Job summary

Paras & Partners in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to own financial reporting, tax compliance and general financial operations within a dynamic commercial environment.

You will lead month-end and year-end close, manage BAS and FBT, maintain general ledger integrity, coordinate with auditors, and mentor junior staff. CA qualification and at least five years in a similar role are essential; strong Excel and ERP skills are required.

Qualifications

• CA qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Senior Accountant role, preferably in a commercial environment.
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, statutory reporting and taxation.
• Demonstrated month-end and year-end reporting, reconciliations, BAS, FBT and audits.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem solving.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across levels.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with ability to meet deadlines and coach others.

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Manage month-end and year-end close, prepare reports and statements.
• Tax Compliance: Oversee BAS and FBT obligations and lodgement.
• General Ledger: Maintain GL integrity including reconciliations and journals.
• Audit & Statutory Reporting: Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with auditors.
• Financial Controls & Improvement: Strengthen controls and provide financial insight.
• Team Support: Mentor and cover key finance functions when needed.
