Job summary

Paras & Partners in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Australia & New Zealand practice on a 12-month contract, supporting accounting and reporting across ANZ.

Reporting to the Regional Controller, APAC, you will lead month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting and tax compliance, while strengthening internal controls and driving process improvements across business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Previous external audit with a Big Four firm is mandatory.
• At least five years of accounting and audit experience.
• Australian work experience with local accounting and tax knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Australian statutory reporting/tax.
• Experience supporting multiple business units or reporting structures.
• Proficiency in SAP or a comparable ERP; strong Excel/financial analysis.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite; healthcare/medical devices background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely month-end and year-end close activities including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Review financial results, investigate variances and resolve reconciling items.
• Prepare statutory financial statement inputs, audit schedules and documentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.
• Support corporate income tax submissions and other statutory/tax requirements.
• Identify control gaps, address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Contribute to finance transformation, standardisation and automation initiatives.
