Job summary

Perigon Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Sydney finance team on a 14–16 month contract. You will drive month-end close, budgeting and tax compliance for the Australian business, reporting to the Finance Manager and coordinating with the Global Shared Services Centre.

Responsibilities include hands-on accounting, journals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and ensuring internal controls within the firm’s framework while supporting external audits and statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
• Senior Accountant experience in legal or professional services is highly regarded.
• Experience with GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, Global Mobility and Income Tax.
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• IFRS knowledge and Oracle Financials (or similar ERP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journals and drive the month-end close.
• Run variance and trend analysis and support balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with annual budget, six-month forecasts and monthly/quarterly reporting.
• Coordinate with World Firm Finance team and external auditors.
• Support tax compliance and liaise with Global Shared Services Centre.
