Perigon Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Sydney finance team on a 14–16 month contract. You will drive month-end close, budgeting and tax compliance for the Australian business, reporting to the Finance Manager and coordinating with the Global Shared Services Centre.

Responsibilities include hands-on accounting, journals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and ensuring internal controls within the firm’s framework while supporting external audits and statutory reporting.

Qualificações

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
• Senior Accountant experience in legal or professional services is highly regarded.
• Experience with GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, Global Mobility and Income Tax.
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
• IFRS knowledge and Oracle Financials (or similar ERP) preferred.

Responsabilidades

Leading global legal firm on the lookout for a Senior Accountant to join its Sydney finance team for a 14 to 16 month contract. You’ll report to the Finance Manager and will drive the reporting, budgeting and tax compliance for the Australian business.

What You’ll Be Doing

This role will involve hands‑on accounting as well as more strategic work. You’ll prepare and review journals, run variance and trend analysis, and drive the month‑end close. You’ll own balance sheet reconciliations and keep everything within the firm’s control framework.

You’ll also support the annual budget, the six‑monthly forecasts and monthly, quarterly and annual management and group reporting. You will be required to work closely with the World Firm Finance team.

In addition you'll support tax compliance across GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, Global Mobility and Income Tax, working with internal stakeholders and external advisors. You’ll also be the first port of call for external audit queries. A big part of the role is managing the day‑to‑day relationship with the Global Shared Services Centre: monitoring performance, reviewing outputs and fixing what needs fixing.

To Be Considered For This Role You Will Be

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
• Proven Senior Accountant experience working in legal or professional services would be highly regarded.
• Exposure to GST, Payroll Tax, FBT, Global Mobility and Income Tax
• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• IFRS knowledge and Oracle Financials (or a similar ERP) are all preferred, but not essential
