Job summary

Populous in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Accountant to support day‑to‑day finance across APAC. You will lead month‑end close, multisite ledger integrity, intercompany activity and tax/compliance with guidance from the Financial Controller.

You will partner with regional teams to improve processes, automate reporting, and drive accuracy and efficiency across the business while upholding high standards of control and governance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in an operational finance role, with focus on APAC.
• Experience in multi‑currency environments, intercompany, and consolidations.
• Knowledge of taxation/compliance requirements across APAC jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close activities with journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany and foreign currency.
• Maintain general ledger integrity with accruals, prepayments, provisions and adjustments.
• Manage multi‑currency accounting and currency revaluations.
• Support cash flow, forecasting and working capital management.
• Coordinate external/internal audits and statutory tax/compliance.
• Support intercompany accounting and regional finance initiatives.
• Coach junior staff and provide day‑to‑day finance support.
