Job summary

Prospa in Sydney is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant on a 12-month contract to deliver accurate financial reporting and support strategic decision-making with robust financial insights.

You will lead month-end close, reconciliations, audit coordination, and compliance with Australian standards, while mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements across the finance function. The role requires CA/CPA and 4-6 years in financial accounting.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified with 4-6 years' experience in financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred).

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the month-end close process, including general ledger integrity and reconciliations.
• Perform loan book reconciliations and ensure accuracy of related entries.
• Support daily payment processing and cash flow activities.
• Act as the key point of contact for external audits and support the audit process.
• Prepare financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
• Handle compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, including statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.
• Mentor and guide junior accountants, fostering technical development and best practices.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives as required.
