Dexus is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Funds Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will deliver financial, management, investor and tax reporting across a portfolio of listed and unlisted funds, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds CA or CPA qualifications with accounting degree, has IFRS experience, and excels in advanced Excel and data analysis.

• Experience preparing statutory financial reports under Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Exposure to fund accounting, management reporting, investor reporting and tax compliance.
• Advanced Excel and large data sets.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail; able to switch between systems and priorities.
• Collaborative, proactive with strong communication; governance and data privacy awareness.

• Manage month-end activities: journals, reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis with strong controls.

An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Funds Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. We are accepting applications for either our Sydney or Melbourne location. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in delivering financial, management, investor and tax reporting obligations across a portfolio of listed and unlisted funds. This role is ideal for a finance professional who can quickly build relationships, navigate complex stakeholder environments and ensure seamless delivery of critical reporting processes while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Delivering critical financial and investor reporting across a portfolio of funds, ensuring statutory reporting, audit requirements and compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time.
• Supporting complex and bespoke Funds, applying strong attention to detail and sound judgement to manage unique fund structures, reporting requirements and governance obligations.
• Owning month-end accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations, accruals and financial analysis, ensuring strong financial controls and high-quality reporting outcomes.
• Partnering with Funds, Investments and Finance stakeholders to provide financial insights, resolve queries and support informed decision-making through proactive communication and collaboration.

About You

• CA or CPA qualification together with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing statutory financial reports in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Exposure to fund accounting, management reporting, investor reporting and tax compliance activities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large and complex data sets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• The ability to quickly adapt to new systems, stakeholders and processes while managing competing priorities.
• A collaborative and proactive approach, with strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
• An interest in leveraging AI tools to improve finance processes, combined with sound professional judgement and a strong understanding of governance, compliance and data privacy requirements.
