Job summary

City of Gold Coast is seeking a Senior Accessibility Adviser to provide strategic and technical leadership to embed accessibility and universal design across infrastructure, services and programs. You will engage with people with disability and stakeholders, influence planning and delivery, and lead organisational accessibility improvements with guidance and training.

The role offers a 9-day fortnight, hybrid work options, and opportunities to shape inclusive outcomes across the City.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge in accessible infrastructure, built environments and universal design principles.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility legislation, standards and best practice.
• Experience influencing multidisciplinary teams to embed accessibility into planning and delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and consultation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical accessibility advice across planning, design, delivery and evaluation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed accessibility into projects, programs and services.
• Lead organisation-wide accessibility improvements through policies, standards, guidance and training.
• Engage with people with disability and community stakeholders to inform decision making.
