Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Workforce Advisor – Projects and Programs within the Aboriginal Justice Group. You will coordinate key initiatives under the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and contribute to the department's employment and career development goals under the Aboriginal Justice Agreement, and the VPSC Barring Djinang Aboriginal Employment Strategy.

Reporting to the Manager Aboriginal Workforce Unit, you will support growth and operation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal community, society and culture and its issues.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal communities.
• Experience in supporting Aboriginal workforces and attracting/retaining Aboriginal employees.
• Experience in design/management of Aboriginal employment or community initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal employment programs and initiatives that support the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy.
• Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities, communications and events for the Aboriginal Staff Network and broader departmental workforce.
• Coordinate delivery of Aboriginal employment programs and funded projects with governance, reporting and risk oversight.
