Job summary

Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) Preston VIC is seeking a dedicated advocate to support Aboriginal individuals, families, Elders and youth who are homeless or at risk. You will work in a culturally safe, trauma-informed way to help strengthen stability, wellbeing and connection to culture.

With a Certificate or Diploma in Community Services and at least 2 years’ relevant experience, you will coordinate services, advocate for clients and collaborate with partners to improve housing

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Community Services required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in housing and homelessness or related field with demonstrated case management.
• Requirements: Valid Police Check, Victorian Working with Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
• Current COVID-19 vaccination strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Support Aboriginal individuals, families, Elders and young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
• Walk alongside community to strengthen stability, wellbeing, and connection to culture, family and community.
