Job summary

VACCA is seeking a Permanent Part Time role based in Preston, VIC to provide culturally responsive case management for Aboriginal community members across Melbourne’s Northern Metropolitan region. You will deliver phone-based support, office appointments and outreach, offering assessments, referrals and emergency financial assistance to families in crisis.

Qualifications

• Experience working with the Aboriginal community in a casework setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and ability to communicate with Aboriginal people.
• Experience in assessment and case planning.
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals, families and communities to foster cultural connections.
• Knowledge of local welfare services across welfare sectors (child welfare, health, employment, education, housing, legal).
• Ability to advocate on behalf of individuals and families.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.
