Job summary

James Hardie Building Products is seeking a Segment Manager to lead the development and execution of segment strategies across SFNC, MFNC, Modular and LLC segments in Australia. You will influence senior stakeholders, drive growth through customer and builder insights, and collaborate across sales, product and marketing to deliver sustainable profitability.

This is a fixed-term 12-month contract, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning and cross-functional execution to strengthen James

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ sales experience with a proven record in business development.
  • Experience across Australia and/or New Zealand at a national level.
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to switch between strategic and tactical execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of segment strategies and align with senior stakeholders.
  • Influence key stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Drive segment growth using insights from customers, builders and installers.
  • Develop long-term roadmaps and market positioning for each segment.
  • Enhance sales productivity through programs and tailored training and tools.
  • Own and evolve the Co-Creation Program across builders and consumers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workshops to strengthen segment positioning.
  • Support go-to-market launches for new products with test-selling activities.
  • Monitor progress against plans using the PDCA cycle.
  • Provide recommendations to optimise growth and profitability.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the DirectorofStrategy, Product and Segment ANZ, you willbe responsible forn managing the Single-Family New Construction (SFNC), Multi-Family New Construction (MFNC), Modular, and Land Lease Community (LLC) segments across Australia.

As a Segment Manager, you will develop and execute strategies that increase the adoption of high-value products and solutions, strengthen James Hardie's market position, and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.This role requires a balance of strategic planning andtacticalexecution to achieve strong commercial outcomes.

This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Whatyou’lldo
  • Lead the development and execution of segment strategies, translating businessobjectivesinto actionable growthplansand securing alignment with senior stakeholders.
  • Influence key stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful delivery of strategic priorities.
  • Drive segment growth byleveragingcustomer, builder, and installer insights toidentifyopportunities and inform strategic priorities.
  • Develop long-term roadmaps and market positioning strategies tailored to each segment
  • Enhance sales team productivity through 1:1 programs, tools, and resourcesand partner with Sales Capability Manager to create and deliver tailored sales training, coachingguidesand conversion tools
  • Own and evolve the Co-Creation Program to align with changing needs of builders and consumers across segments.
  • Facilitate and coach cross-functional teams in running workshops and design sessions to strengthen segment positioning.
  • Support the successful launch of new products by coordinatingtest-selling activitiesand translating insights into effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Monitor and report on progress of each segment against agreed plans using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle.
  • Provide actionable recommendations tooptimisedelivery of growth and profitability targets, ensuring continuous improvement and agility.
Whatyou’llbring
  • Minimum 10 years’ sales experience with a proven record in business development, ideally with major builders and within the building products industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working across Australia and/or New Zealand at a national level.
  • Familiarity with modular and/or land lease community developments will be highly regarded.
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, or arelated discipline highlyregarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to shift seamlessly between strategic andtacticalexecution.
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and open to feedback.
  • Collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Salesforce preferred).
