Job summary

MTP Services is seeking experienced Security Training Specialists and Security Training Engagement Officers to support a major Federal Government department in Canberra.

The roles focus on developing and delivering security training, awareness programs and stakeholder engagement across a protection security environment, delivering learning solutions across face to face, virtual and online formats. This is a long-term engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in government training development, delivery or coordination.

Security Training Specialists and Security Training Engagement Officers

MTP Services is seeking experienced Security Training Specialists and Security Training Engagement Officers to support a major Federal Government department in Canberra.

These are excellent long term opportunities to join a close knit security environment responsible for strengthening security capability, awareness and culture across a large and complex government organisation. The roles will suit people with backgrounds across learning and development, security training, stakeholder engagement, training coordination, communications and protective security.

You will work closely with internal business areas and other government stakeholders to develop, coordinate and deliver security training and awareness initiatives designed to help personnel identify, understand and manage security threats and risks effectively.
The Role Depending on your experience, responsibilities may include:

• Developing and delivering security training, presentations, workshops and awareness programs.
• Designing engaging learning solutions across face to face, virtual, eLearning and blended learning environments.
• Developing and maintaining training materials, instructional content, guidance documents, FAQs, Standard Operating Procedures and online learning content.
• Reviewing existing training programs and identifying opportunities to improve training effectiveness, capability and user experience.
• Identifying security training and capability gaps and helping develop strategies to address them.
• Ensuring security training remains current with emerging security risks, government security requirements and adult learning principles.
• Supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of security awareness initiatives.
• Coordinating training enquiries and providing timely, considered advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Building strong relationships across security teams, corporate areas and other government agencies.
• Developing stakeholder engagement strategies and supporting meetings and collaborative forums.
• Supporting training administration, coordination, reporting and general program activities.
• Providing financial and administrative support including forecasting costs, processing invoices and assisting with financial inputs where required.

About You

We are interested in candidates with experience across one or more of the following areas:

• Government training development, delivery or coordination.
• Learning and Development within a security, Defence, Federal Government or similarly complex environment.
• Protective security or security awareness programs.
• Adult learning principles and instructional design.
• eLearning development and training development platforms.
• Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Training administration and program coordination.
• Development of training materials, policy, procedures or guidance documentation.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders. You will be organised, proactive and capable of working both autonomously and within a small team while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
Experience across traditional and contemporary learning platforms including face to face, virtual, eLearning and blended learning environments will be highly regarded. An understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), security risk management or broader Australian Government protective security environments would also be advantageous.

• Current NV1 Security Clearance
• Ability to work in Canberra
