Job summary

Whizdom is seeking a Security Advisor to join a national protective security team in Canberra. The role is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Canberra, ACT, with hybrid/onsite work arrangements in a highly secure environment.

The successful candidate will hold a current PV Clearance and have experience in Defence or government security settings, with strong written communication and stakeholder relationship skills. NV1/Top secret vetting requirements may apply depending on project scope.

Qualifications

• Understanding of DSPF, PSPF and AGSVA clearance processes.
• Knowledge of personnel, physical or information security practices.

Security Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Security Advisor to join a national protective security team, providing day-to-day support across personnel, physical, information, and security governance functions. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in Canberra, ACT, offering the chance to work within a highly secure and mission-critical environment.

Due to the nature of the projects and environments supported, candidates must hold a current TSPV (Top Secret Positive Vetting) security clearance.

This role would be particularly well suited to candidates looking to transition from into a long-term civilian career, where they can continue to apply their security expertise while contributing to nationally significant programs.

Major Duties

• Providing advice across key protective security disciplines.
• Supporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) obligations.
• Assisting with security incidents, investigations and reporting.
• Maintaining security policies, procedures and compliance activities.
• Supporting security audits, accreditations and governance requirements.
• Managing security-related administration and stakeholder engagement.

Mandatory Skillsets (5)
