iDetect Group on the Gold Coast is hiring a Security Technology Installer / Labourer. This field-based role involves installing, relocating and maintaining solar-powered security poles, CCTV and temporary electronic systems across Queensland construction sites.

No prior security experience required; full training will be provided. You should be practical, comfortable on site, and eager to learn, with a valid Australian Driver’s Licence and White Card.

With strong growth across Queensland, we’re looking for a motivated, practical person ready to step into a hands-on role installing and supporting our solar-powered security poles and temporary electronic security systems on active construction sites.

About the Role

This is a field-based, boots-on-the-ground position. You’ll be out on construction and commercial sites across Queenslandinstalling, relocating, maintaining and removing temporary electronic security systems — with a strong focus on our solar-powered security poles.

You don’t need to be an experienced Security Technician. We’re looking for someone who is practical, mechanically or technically minded, comfortable working on construction sites, and keen to learn. Full training is provided, making this an excellent pathway for a labourer, trade assistant or construction worker who wants to move into the electronic security industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, relocate and remove solar-powered security poles, CCTV cameras and associated equipment
• Assist with the full installation and removal of temporary electronic security systems
• Support technicians with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance
• Load, unload and transport equipment to and from sites
• Carry out basic troubleshooting and equipment testing
• Use hand and power tools safely and confidently
• Work on active construction and commercial sites throughout Queensland
• Complete basic job documentation and site reports
• Liaise professionally with builders, site supervisors and clients
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment
• Follow all company OH&S procedures and site safety requirements

About You

You’re reliable, hardworking and ready to learn. You enjoy being outdoors, using tools, and being part of a practical, hands-on team that gets things done.

• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn new technology and develop technical skills

Highly Desirable

• Previous construction or labouring experience
• CCTV, security or telecommunications experience
• Electrical, data or cabling experience
• Queensland Security Installer Licence
• EWP Licence
• Working at Heights Certification
• Cabling Registration
• First Aid Certificate

No security industry experience?
