Job summary

Perth Airport Pty Ltd is hiring a Security Operations Specialist to support day-to-day aviation security operations and ensure compliance with security legislation and Perth Airport standards.

You will lead incident investigations, manage CCTV data requests, conduct risk assessments, and drive improvements through the Security Management System while coordinating with internal stakeholders on emergencies and day-to-day activities.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of aviation security services, ATS legislation, and real-world operations.
• Proven experience conducting security incident investigations and delivering actionable outcomes.
• Strong understanding of Security Management Systems in airport environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in fast-paced settings.
• Strong safety ethic and ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day aviation security operations across Passenger Screening, Baggage Screening, Security Restricted Areas, Airside, and Landside while complying with legislation and Perth Airport standards.
• Lead security incident investigations, propose corrective actions, and track completion within set timeframes.
• Export and provide CCTV footage to external agencies per internal data release processes.
• Conduct security risk assessments and advise stakeholders across BAU and project activities.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and identify improvements through the Security Management System.
• Analyze daily operational statistics to identify trends, risks, and compliance gaps and implement actions.
• Oversee the security services contract through contractor relationships, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Act as an active member of the emergency coordination team and participate in On-Call roster.

Our team are currently looking for a Security Operations Specialist. You’ll work closely with security contractors and internal stakeholders to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient airport security operations in line with Aviation Security legislation and Perth Airport’s standards.

What you'll do:

• Support day-to-day aviation security operations across Passenger Screening, Checked Baggage Screening, Security Restricted Areas, Airside, and Landside, ensuring compliance with Aviation Security legislation and the Perth Airport TSP.
• Lead security incident investigations, recommend corrective actions, and track completion within specified timeframes.
• Export and provide CCTV footage to external agencies in accordance with internal data release processes.
• Conduct security risk assessments and provide advice to PAPL stakeholders across business-as-usual and project activities.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and identify business improvement opportunities through the Security Management System.
• Analyse daily operational statistics to identify trends, risks, and compliance gaps, and implement appropriate actions.
• Oversee and assure the security services contract through strong contractor relationships, continuous improvement, operational oversight, and regulatory compliance.
• Act as an active member of the emergency coordination team and participate in an On-Call roster.

About you:

• In-depth knowledge of aviation security services, security equipment, and Aviation Transport Security legislation, with practical experience in a real-world operational environment.
• Proven experience conducting security incident investigations and delivering actionable outcomes, alongside assurance and change management activities.
• Strong understanding of Security Management Systems and aviation security operations within an airport or airline environment.
• Confident communicator and skilled collaborator with strong stakeholder management skills, able to build constructive relationships and positively influence stakeholders to take action.
• Highly organised with effective time-management skills, able to prioritise and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Resilient and adaptable to changing demands while remaining thorough and accurate in all aspects of work.
• Able to take control and manage difficult situations with confidence, maintaining a strong safety ethic at all times.
