Job summary

Millennium Services Group Limited in Australia seeks a Security Officer for a high-security government environment. This casual role covers access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, and front-line duties across day and night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

You will hold a current Security Licence, NV1 clearance, first aid/ CPR, and have prior government or Defence security experience. Applicants must have Australian working rights and be able to work a rotating roster.

• Availability to work a rotating roster including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the arrival and departure of personnel, visitors, and contractors on site.
• Maintain accurate visitor and contractor registers and records.
• Issue and manage access control credentials including passes.
• Monitor and review CCTV footage and historical footage when required.
• Operate walk-through and handheld metal detection equipment.
• Maintain a professional, approachable, and highly visible security presence.
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, emergencies, and requests for assistance.
• Identify, assess, and manage security risks per site procedures and policies.
• Ensure compliance with all site-specific and organisational security protocols.
• Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records.

About The Role

As a Security Officer in a high security government environment, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and professional environment while delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves a combination of access control, cctv monitoring and surveillance, incident response, and front-line security duties. You will be responsible for protecting people, property, and assets while ensuring all security procedures and site requirements are consistently followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and manage security risks in accordance with site procedures and company policies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• A current and valid Security Licence.
• An active NV1 Security Clearance (essential).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Previous experience in a government or Defence security environment.
• Availability to work a rotating roster consisting of day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
• The ability to work independently while adhering to established procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proven track record of reliability, professionalism, and punctuality.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Defence Force veterans and ex-service personnel are strongly encouraged to apply.

Candidates will also be required to complete an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA)
