Job summary

Wilson Security is expanding across Cairns, creating casual security roles to support existing teams and clients. Positions involve responding to incidents, patrolling sites, and delivering frontline customer service across multiple locations.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service skills, be comfortable with CCTV and access control, and able to work in a rotating roster including nights and weekends. Training and development opportunities are provided by Wilson Security.

Qualifications

• Experience in delivering customer-focused security services.
• Ability to operate CCTV and access control systems.
• Proven ability to write clear security/incident reports.
• Familiarity with security software and incident logging.
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team or autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong customer service to visitors, contractors and clients.
• Perform gatehouse duties and access control checks.
• Proactively monitor CCTV and Access Control Systems.
• Conduct building patrols to identify and report hazards.
• Report hazards and building faults for rectification.
• Support tenants and facilities teams as needed.
• Coordinate contractors and deliveries through dock management.
• Respond to emergency situations promptly.
• Handle contractor management duties.
• Perform ad-hoc security tasks as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Location: Various across Cairns
• Casual Opportunities available
• 4 hour shifts available across 6 days
• Pay level subject to specific site

Wilson Security is expanding in the state of QLD, securing additional contracts that strengthen our presence in the region.

This growth has created new roles within our team, focused on enhancing response and support capabilities for our existing teams and clients.

These positions are crucial to our success in the region and will be supported by our Operations Team and Duty Managers. They offer the opportunity to work in response roles, handling events such as protests and emergency management, with training across multiple locations and a variety of positions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing strong Customer Service solutions to visitors, contractors & client
• Gatehouse duties
• Proactively monitoring CCTV and Access Control Systems
• Conducting building patrols to actively report and mitigate security & safety risk
• Identifying and reporting hazards and building faults for rectification
• Providing support to tenants and Facilities
• Managing contractors and deliveries through dock management
• Responding to emergency situations
• Contractor management duties
• Ad-hoc duties

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Willing to support and step up as required into other roles
• Ability to work well in a team or autonomously
• Ability to work in a rotational roster (Nights/Days/Weekends)
• Australian Citizen or hold Unlimited Work Rights
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and write reports
• Demonstrated ability in the use of Computers and Security related systems (Access Control, CCTV, Microsoft Programmes)
• Availability to and physical fitness to walk and stand for long periods
• Crowd Control endorsement will be highly desirable
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
