Job summary

NSW Health at Westmead is seeking a permanent full-time Security Officer to safeguard staff, patients and assets. You will maintain order across hospital premises, respond to security requests and demonstrate NSW Health CORE values in a cohesive team.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Security Licence Class 1A required.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy with accurate documentation.
• Experience with electronic security, CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Proven ability to work with staff, patients and stakeholders.
• Recent experience as a qualified Security Officer.

What you'll be doing

Security officers are responsible for the safety and security of staff, patients, visitors and assets of the hospital by maintaining a level of order, control and security across the hospital premises and grounds. Security officers are required to be responsive to requests for assistance from staff, visitors and patients.

Security officers are required to demonstrate NSW Health CORE values at all times and be prepared to work in a cohesive, team environment.

• Current NSW Security Licence Class 1A & Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to respond to challenging situations with empathy and integrity.
• Computer literacy and demonstrated experience in completing accurate and complete documentation including entering information into databases.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of and understanding of electronic security, CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior managers, staff, customers and other stakeholders.
• Relevant and recent experience as a qualified Security Officer.
