Job summary

Advent Security is seeking reliable Security Officers to join our team at a busy shopping centre in Dubbo. You will provide a visible security presence, assist customers and tenants, respond to incidents and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Key duties include patrols, alarm response, incident reporting and de-escalation of conflicts. You will liaise with police and emergency services when required and work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Security Licence is mandatory.
• First Aid certification is mandatory.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Able to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
• Australian working rights required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols of the centre and surrounding areas.
• Respond to alarms and incidents in a timely manner.
• Assist customers, tenants and centre management as required.
• De-escalate conflict and manage antisocial behaviour professionally.
• Respond to emergencies and liaise with police and emergency services.
• Complete incident reports and daily activity logs accurately.
• Monitor deliveries, access to restricted areas and contractors.
• Maintain a professional, approachable security presence.

The successful applicants will provide a visible security presence, assist customers and tenants, respond to incidents, and help maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the centre and surrounding areas
• Respond to alarms and incidents
• Assist customers, tenants and centre management
• Manage antisocial behaviour and de-escalate situations professionally
• Respond to emergencies and liaise with police and emergency services when required
• Complete clear and accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
• Monitor contractors, deliveries and access to restricted areas
• Maintain a professional and approachable presence at all times

Essential Requirements

• Current NSW Security Licence
• Current First Aid.
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Confidence dealing with conflict and difficult situations
• Good written English and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Availability to work a rotating roster, including weekdays, weekends and public holidays
• Full Australian working rights

Previous shopping centre, retail or customer-facing security experience will be highly regarded.
