Job summary

MSS Security is seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at a Public Housing Estate in Prahran, Melbourne. This role leads the on-site security team, ensures delivery of security services and the safety of residents, visitors and staff.

You will manage and develop a team of security officers, maintain community standards, and ensure compliance with legislation, contractual obligations and organisational policies.

Qualifications

• Full Australian working rights.
• Current Victorian Security License with the control room endorsement.
• Working With Children’s Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Willing to undergo a national police check.
• Experience in line management of staff in complex environments.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and manage risk.
• Well-organised with initiative and able to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to undergo a national police clearance.

About the role

MSS Security is seeking an experienced Security Manager to oversee the day to day operations at a Public Housing Estate in Prahran. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of security services, leading and supporting the on‑site security team and fostering strong working relationships with key stakeholders. The Site Manager will oversee all security operations within the Public Housing Estate, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, visitors and staff. The role includes managing and developing a team of security officers, maintaining community standards and ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, contractual obligations and organisational policies.

Duties include:

• Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, support and coach a team of security officers to build capability and maintain high standards.
• Incident & Risk Management: Respond to and manage incidents, including reporting, escalation and follow‑up.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build positive relationships with residents, housing staff, local authorities and community organisations. Represent the security team in stakeholder discussions.
• Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of patrols, incidents and disciplinary actions. Ensure guards are adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
