Job summary

Google LLC in Sydney is seeking a Security Customer Engineer to help grow Google Cloud's cybersecurity business. You will build trusted advisory relationships with customers, support security architectures, and lead technical problem-solving for cloud security deployments.

The role involves collaborating with sales, product, and engineering to align security solutions with customer needs and drive secure, compliant cloud adoption at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role in security or cloud native environments.
• Experience in cybersecurity (e.g., network security, SOC, threat detection, cloud security posture management, IAM).

Responsibilities

• Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
• Work directly with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to complete solutions using best practices on Google Cloud.
• Share security experience to support the technical relationship with customers, including product and solution briefings and proof-of-concept work, partnering with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer engagement with Google Cloud.
• Support customer-facing presentations and conduct workshops to share the experience and be a subject matter expert on cyber security.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in cybersecurity (e.g., network security, Security Operations Center (SoC) platform, threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems).

Preferred qualifications:

• Certification in the Cloud or Security industry.
• Experience in building and managing AI threat detection and security analytics solutions on Cloud.
• Experience in architecture and developing software for scalable, distributed systems.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms and technical concepts such as Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and related industry topics.
• Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence key decision makers around deployment topologies, scaling, performance and sizing.
