Everest Eatery Hobart is seeking a skilled Chef to join our team in Hobart. This full-time role offers an annual salary between $80,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation.

You will plan menus, order supplies, monitor dish quality, and train kitchen staff while ensuring food safety in a fast-paced environment. Based in Hobart, TAS, this position provides hands-on culinary work and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef.
• Qualification in Commercial Cookery or related field.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs.
• Order and manage food supplies.
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Liaise with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen and waiting staff regarding food preparation.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on preparation procedures.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff where required.
• Preserve and store food appropriately.
