Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia is seeking a Process Operator (Weighbridge) at the Proserpine Mill. This seasonal, shift-based role involves weighing cane as it enters the weighbridge and coordinating with mill teams to ensure smooth operation.

The position requires good communication, basic mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to obtain high-risk licences. Training for sugar milling competencies will be provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• High-risk work licences such as Confined Space and/or Working at Heights (training provided).
• Willing to achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies.

Responsibilities

• Control the first station in the mill to move cane from bins to the milling train.
• Maintain cane consignment data and ensure growers are paid correctly.
• Troubleshoot the automated bin handling sequence to keep the mill tipping bins.
• Maintain housekeeping around the weighbridge and assist in scheduling cleaning.
• Communicate with Cane Supply & Transport and Laboratory teams.
• Provide regular feedback on station performance and quality issues.
• Support training to achieve sugar milling module competencies.
