Job summary

Wilmar Sugar Australia Limited seeks a Boiler Operator for the Invicta Mill, operating boilers, turbines, bagasse systems and milling lines on a continuous shift during the crushing season. You will help maintain energy flow and plant performance while upholding strict safety standards.

The successful candidate holds a High Risk Work Licence TO and an Advanced Boiler Operator BA, with willingness to undertake required training and contribute to a team focused on reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High Risk Work Licence TO required; Advanced Boiler Operator BA highly regarded.
• Willingness to train and upskill across the Invicta Mill operations.
• Experience in boiler/steam and turbine plant environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler station to ensure adequate steam for power generation.
• Start up and shut down turbine and auxiliary equipment safely.
• Manage bagasse and milling systems for continuous plant operation.
• Inspect and troubleshoot boiler and support systems; report abnormalities.
• Support boiler assistants and contribute to competency development.
• Adhere to WHS standards and participate in safety analyses.

As a Boiler Operator at Wilmar Sugar and Renewables, you\'ll play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of super-heated boilers, turbine generators, ash handling systems, milling train and bagasse system. This is a permanent position at our invicta Mill which requires working on a continuous shift roster during the crushing season (approximately June - December), including weekends and overtime and day work during the maintenance period (approximately Jan - May).

Your Role in Action

• Smooth Operator: Operate and monitor boiler station to ensure sufficient levels of steam are driving the alternators which generate power for factory operations and external demands.


• Ignite and Idle: Take charge of turbine and auxiliary equipment start-ups and shut-downs—keeping the plant\'s energy flow in check.


• Bagasse Guardian: Manage the vital Bagasse system with precision ensuring smooth, efficient operations at all times.


• Mill Master: Operate and monitor the milling train to extract cane juice efficiently, keeping the heart of the factory running at peak performance


• Fix-It Force: Inspect, troubleshoot and handle boiler and auxiliary systems, reporting abnormalities.


• Ready, Set, Competent: Willing and able to achieve relevant sugar milling module competencies.


• Collaboration Crew: Assist with the professional development of boiler assistants.


• Clear & Concise: Provide regular and accurate feedback to Mill management on station performance.


• Stay Ahead of Safety: Actively contribute to work, health and safety standards, from risk assessments to job safety analyses and participation in site safety programs.
  

Your Winning Combination

Our ideal candidate must have a High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO) and Advanced Boiler Operator (BA). Whilst applicants with High-Risk Work Licences (e.g. Working Safely at Heights and Confined Spaces) are desirable, we are prepared to provide training to those who show the right aptitude and fit.
