Job summary

The Standard Market Company – Southport QLD is launching a brand-new premium Seafood offering at Ferry Road Markets. We are seeking a Seafood Chef to join a Casual 25-hour a week role at our Southport location, delivering a premium seafood experience with high kitchen standards.

You will prepare and cook fish and chips using fresh, premium seafood, maintain quality and presentation, and manage fryer operations while upholding food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking fresh seafood.
• Experience in fish & chips at a high-volume fry station.
• Ability to work quickly and under pressure.
• Team-focused attitude with strong work ethic.
• Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.

Seafood Chef - Fish & Chips

Location: Southport
Employment Type: Casual opportunity (25 hours)

About the Role

This is not your average fish and chip shop. We are a Premium Seafood Experience, combining traditional favourites with high-quality ingredients and professional kitchen standards.

Your responsibilities will include

• Preparing and cooking fish and chip menu items to a high standard
• Working with fresh, premium seafood daily
• Maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation
• Managing fryer operations and ensuring food safety standards are met
• Supporting kitchen organisation, cleanliness, and stock rotation
• Working efficiently during busy service periods

What We’re Looking For

• Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in cooking fresh seafood, fish & chips, working in a high-volume fry station.
• Ability to work quickly and consistently under pressure
• A team-focused attitude with strong work ethic
• Commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
• Reliability and pride in producing quality food
