Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney in Darlinghurst, NSW, is seeking an experienced Scrub Scout Registered Nurse for theatre duties across ophthalmic and plastics specialties. This permanent role offers both full-time and part-time options, with a flexible 24-hour or casual arrangement to suit staffing needs.

You will register with AHPRA, demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe operating environment and deliver patient‑centred

• Recent Scrub/Scout nursing experience, especially in ophthalmic/plastics.

About the role

Provide high-quality Scrub and Scout nursing care across a range of surgical specialties.

Maintain a safe and efficient operating theatre environment.

Demonstrate sound knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.

Ensure surgical instruments, equipment and consumables are prepared and available for procedures.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and patient safety standards.

About you

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.

Recent experience in a Scrub/Scout nursing role especially in ophthalmic/plastics

Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.

Flexibility to work across a variety of surgical specialties.
