Job summary

Salmon Earthmoving, part of the Sime Darby Industrial Group, seeks an experienced Scraper Operator for a large open-cut gold mining project near Ravenswood, North Queensland. You will operate Caterpillar scrapers safely in a production setting and contribute to efficient material movement while upholding strict safety and equipment-care standards.

The role offers 2/1 roster dayshifts, local candidate preference with DIDO/FIFO options, and a supportive, safety-focused team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Scrapers within a mining environment.
• RII Statement of Attainments including Standard 11.
• Current and valid Driver’s Licence.
• Strong understanding of site safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment silica medical and drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Caterpillar scrapers in a production environment.
• Support site operations by moving materials efficiently and safely.
• Maintain high safety and equipment-care standards on site.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking experienced and safety-focusedScraper Operators to join our team working at a large open-cut gold mining project located near Ravenswood, North Queensland.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation ofCaterpillarscrapers in a production environment.

You will play an important role in supporting site operations by contributing to efficient material movement and maintaining high standards of safety and equipment care.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Demonstrated experience operating Scrapers within a mining environment.
• RII Statement of Attainments including Standard 11
• Current & valid Driver’s Licence
• Strong understanding and reliability in adhering to site standards; safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to pass a pre-employment silica medical and drug and alcohol screening.
