Job summary

The Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Speech Pathologist to support students in a primary school setting. Working under the leadership team, you will collaborate with teachers, education support staff and families to deliver universal, targeted and intensive speech and language support within MTSS.

You will assess, plan, implement and review individual or small-group programs, model inclusive practices, and contribute to staff development and family engagement to improve

Qualifications

• SC1: ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Inclusion and Wellbeing Team.
• SC2: understanding of school-based speech pathology in a primary school.
• SC3: ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate speech, language and communication programs; build staff and family capability.
• SC5: strong organisational and time management skills; prioritise demands and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, intervention and student support: assess needs, develop recommendations and deliver targeted interventions.
• Inclusive classroom practice and staff capability: model, coach and provide feedback on communication supports.
• Collaboration and family engagement: participate in meetings, liaise with families and external professionals.
• Whole-school inclusion and improvement: advise leaders and support MTSS and universal access.
• Professional practice and documentation: maintain records within professional and ethical standards.
