Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Speech Pathologist to support students with communication, language and social communication needs at Sunbury Downs College. The role focuses on improving access to learning and participation through targeted intervention and data-informed practice.

The successful candidate will contribute to DI processes, gather and analyse evidence for DI profiles, and work with staff to implement appropriate adjustments and interventions to support student

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of speech, language and social communication development in adolescents.
  • Experience planning and evaluating targeted interventions in secondary settings.
  • Experience gathering and presenting evidence for Disability Inclusion applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, families and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain records and meet timelines for assessments and DI processes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct observations, screening and assessment to identify language needs impacting learning.
  • Develop and implement targeted speech and language interventions for eligible students.
  • Plan and facilitate small group programs covering receptive/expressive language, social communication and literacy-related language.
  • Collaborate with parents/caregivers on goals and progress.
  • Liaise with external services and participate in multidisciplinary planning for complex needs.
