Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a dedicated school psychologist to join Glen Innes High School. The role involves counselling students, conducting assessments, and collaborating with teachers and families to support learning, wellbeing and mental health.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team across primary and high school settings. The position offers professional supervision, ongoing development opportunities, and a range of leave and wellbeing benefits within a public education

Qualifications

• General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid Working with Children Check clearance (WWCC) – NSW.
• Current and valid driver’s licence with ability to travel between work sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Engages with and implements the Professional Practice Framework for school counselling.
• Collaborates with the principal, staff and external services to improve learning and wellbeing.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Works with families, carers and agencies to develop school-based support.
• Responds to incidents as part of a school support team.
• Participates in supervision and continuing professional development.
