Job summary

NSW Department of Education invites applications for a full-time School Psychologist at Melonba High School in Sydney. You will provide counselling and psychological assessments to students, supporting learning and wellbeing in partnership with teachers and families.

The role offers professional supervision and opportunities to work across primary and high school ages. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team within a supportive environment, with access to continuing professional development

Qualifications

• Must hold General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid WWCC clearance – NSW required.
• Current and valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups.
• Engages with the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Works with the principal, executive, staff and support services to improve learning and wellbeing.
• Contributes to social, emotional and academic development and supports students with complex behavioural needs.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results.
• Collaborates with parents, carers and other agencies to develop school-based support.
• Responds as part of a team to assist schools experiencing serious incidents.
• Refer students and families to external agencies for health and wellbeing support.
