Job summary

Monaro High School in regional NSW is seeking a full-time School Psychologist to provide counselling and psychological assessments across primary and high school settings. You will collaborate with teachers, families, and external agencies to support student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Valid and current Working with Children Check clearance – WWCC must be NSW.
• Current and valid driver’s licence and ability and willingness to travel between work sites.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Responsibilities

• Provides counselling and psychological services to students, individually and in groups, including short-term interventions.
• Engages with and implements the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
• Works with school leaders and staff to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes and implement departmental priorities.
• Contributes to the development of students’ social, emotional, and academic wellbeing, including those with complex needs.
• Administers cognitive, social, emotional and behavioural assessments and reports results to support interventions.
• Collaborates with families, carers and external agencies to support student wellbeing outcomes.
• Responds to assist schools during serious incidents as part of a team.
• Refers students and families to appropriate external supports.
