Job summary

Danihers Facility Management is seeking a motivated Maintenance Officer to join our growing team at a school site in Melbourne’s northwest. You will undertake planned and reactive maintenance to keep spaces safe, functional and welcoming for students and staff.

Key tasks include general repairs, preventative maintenance, minor carpentry, event set-ups, supervising contractors, and maintaining neat, safe environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities management or a similar role.
• Trade qualifications in Carpentry or related trade are highly regarded.
• Excellent handyman skills across a range of tasks.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance and handyman repairs.
• Preventative maintenance and routine property inspections.
• Basic carpentry and minor building works.
• Setting up and packing down for school events and functions.
• Coordinating contractors and monitoring works on site.
• Identifying maintenance issues and implementing practical solutions.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented environment.
• Building positive relationships with staff, contractors and the Danihers team.
• Ensuring all work complies with WHS requirements.
• General gardening maintenance when required.
