Government schools in Melbourne's northern suburbs seeks a Range 3 Grounds and Maintenance Officer to maintain school buildings and grounds. The role involves physical grounds work, minor repairs, and collaboration with the Maintenance Manager to support student learning programs.

The successful candidate will contribute to safe, well-kept outdoor spaces and building interiors in a dynamic school environment, with opportunities to lead small projects and ensure OH&S compliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to carry out a physical role with gardening/handyperson aptitude and experience.
• Ability to efficiently manage and maintain grounds and gardens and complete grounds works as required within a school environment.
• Technical knowledge and proficiency in minor repairs and maintenance to interiors and exteriors of buildings within a school environment.
• Capacity to be directed to support minor projects.
• Flexibility to work independently to maintain school buildings and grounds.
• Ability to work with and collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to support student learning programs.

Responsabilités

• Assist with general grounds and maintenance tasks as required, including mowing, edging, spraying.
• Establish/maintain garden beds and mulch and water as needed.
• Undertake general maintenance and minor building works.
• Check school grounds to ensure safety.
• Keep storage facilities clean, tidy and safe, including OH&S signage.
• Work through a schedule of regular tasks and maintenance audits.
• General setup and packing away after major events.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and also with minimum supervision within a team.
