Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a School Counsellor for Melonba High School, Sydney Region. You will provide counselling and psychological assessment to students, support teachers and families, and contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on student wellbeing and learning outcomes.

The role offers supervision, professional development, and opportunities to work across years 7–10 in a growing regional school with modern facilities and a strong focus on student welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes across diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment of students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external partners to support student outcomes.
• Engage in regular supervision and professional development as part of the NSW Department of Education program.
