Job summary

The NSW Department of Education is seeking a school counsellor based at Taree High School to provide counselling and psychological assessment for students and to support teachers in promoting learning and wellbeing.

You will work with diverse student cohorts across primary and high school ages, collaborating with families, external agencies and the broader district team, with supervision and ongoing professional development provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions for children and young people.
• Experience in psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes.
• Be a registered or provisionally registered psychologist, or eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment to students.
• Collaborate with school communities and external agencies to support student wellbeing.
• Participate in supervision, professional development, and multidisciplinary team activities.
• Travel between worksites as required and maintain professional standards.
