School Counsellor position at Cobar High School in regional NSW is a key part of the NSW Department of Education’s School Counselling Service. The successful candidate will provide counselling and psychological assessment to support student learning and wellbeing, working across the lifespan with students from Year 7 to Year 12 and collaborating with multiple school communities.

Based at Cobar High School, the role offers supervision, professional development, and access to a range of support

Formación

• Experience in counselling using evidence-based interventions with a demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people.
• Experience in the psychological assessment of children and young people, including case formulation and report writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to improve the learning and wellbeing outcomes of children and young people including students from diverse backgrounds and needs.

Responsabilidades

• Provide counselling and psychological assessment to students to support learning and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and external agencies to plan interventions and supports.
• Contribute to a multidisciplinary team within the School Counselling Service and participate in supervision and professional development.
