Job summary

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is seeking a Perfusionist Grade 2 for a permanent full-time role based at Westmead. The position involves supporting, preparing and operating cardiopulmonary equipment in the cardiac theatre, PICU and transplant settings, in collaboration with surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care teams.

What You'll Be Doing

The purpose of the position is to provide those functions necessary for support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist performs advanced work in the selection, preparation, operation and maintenance of extracorporeal circulatory equipment. These duties are performed in close cooperation with surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care staff and in accordance with hospital policy. The primary locations of work are the cardiac operating theatre, PICU, invasive radiology suite and the transplant operating theatre, however the possibility exists of working in other areas.
