Job summary

The Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Inpatient Unit at Westmead. The role involves delivering paediatric cardiac nursing care for neonates through adolescents, supporting procedures and surgeries, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Current Acute Nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Effective time management skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Capacity to work a seven (7) day rotating roster including public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide paediatric cardiac nursing care across neonates to adolescents.
• Support care from day catheter procedures to complex heart surgeries.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe patient care.
• Maintain patient safety and family-centred care.

The Cardiac Inpatient Unit at the Children's Hospital at Westmead is a dynamic ward caring for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents with congenital, inherited and acquired heart disease. The provision of care extends from day catheter procedures to complex open heart surgeries, arrhythmias, transplantation and ventricular assist devices. Paediatric cardiac development opportunities are available to staff new to paediatrics and cardiology.

A 12-hour flexible roster pattern is available for full and part time staff
