Job summary

Morson Edge Australia is seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler to support a major multi-billion-dollar infrastructure tender. You will develop robust, resource-loaded tender programmes for HV substations and switching yards, coordinating with Bid, Estimating and Engineering teams to align with quantities, resources and costs.

The role requires advanced Primavera P6 skills and a strong background in construction sequencing from energisation to commissioning, with hybrid Sydney-office work and

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Planner/Scheduler in an EPC or contracting environment.
• Experience developing tender programmes for HV substations or major energy infra.
• Advanced Primavera P6 skills including resource loading, calendars and XER exchange.
• Knowledge of HV substation construction sequencing from site to energisation.
• Experience developing resource histograms and manpower curves in Excel.
• Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management or PM.
• DCMA 14-point schedule assessments valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop Level 3 and Level 4 tender programmes using Primavera P6.

• Develop the Basis of Programme with assumptions and productivity rates.
• Coordinate with estimating and engineering teams to align programmes with quantities and costs.

About the Role

I'm seeking an experienced Planner / Scheduler to support a major multi-billion-dollar infrastructure tender involving 500 kV substations and switching yards. Working closely with the Bid, Estimating and Engineering teams, you will develop robust, resource-loaded tender programmes that demonstrate how the project will be delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client requirements. The initial contract is for 4 months, with the potential for a permanent position and opportunities to support other tenders and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Level 3 and Level 4 tender programmes using Primavera P6 Plan construction sequencing across civil works, earthing, primary plant, secondary systems, testing and commissioning.
• Prepare resource histograms, manpower curves, quantity loading schedules and staging plans.
• Develop the Basis of Programme, including assumptions, productivity rates, critical paths and contingency.
• Coordinate with estimating and engineering teams to align programmes with quantities, resources and costs.
• Integrate long-lead equipment, OEM activities, network outages and contractor interfaces.
• Review critical paths, assess schedule risks and update programmes in line with client requirements.

About You

• 5+ years' experience as a Planner / Scheduler within an EPC or contracting environment.
• Proven experience developing tender programmes for HV substations, switching yards, transmission or major energy infrastructure.
• Advanced Primavera P6 skills, including resource loading, calendars, activity coding and XER file exchange.
• Strong understanding of HV substation construction sequencing through to commissioning and energisation.
• Experience preparing resource histograms, manpower curves and quantity-loaded schedules in Excel.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction management or project management.
• Experience with DCMA 14-point schedule assessments, schedule risk analysis and time-location diagrams will be highly regarded.
