Job summary

Bunyip Equipment Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking a Sales and Operations Manager to lead omnichannel sales, customer inquiries, and the integration of e-commerce with IMS/ERP systems. You will oversee inventory, warehouse operations, and nationwide order fulfilment while serving as the primary face of the store.

You will manage inbound leads, coordinate logistics for heavy machinery, supervise warehouse staff, and drive stock accuracy across high-SKU spare parts.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in a hybrid sales and operations role.
• Experience in e-commerce, parts distribution, or machinery retail preferred.
• Experience supervising warehouse/logistics personnel.
• Strong knowledge of cloud IMS/ERP software.
• Experience with modern e-commerce platforms and freight/courier booking systems.
• Current Forklift License or willingness to obtain.

The Sales and Operations Manager is responsible for managing omnichannel sales and customer inquiries, overseeing e-commerce and systems operations, controlling inventory and warehouse management, and leading team growth. This role serves as the primary face of the physical store while managing online order flows, coordinating heavy machinery logistics, and supervising warehouse staff to ensure efficient nationwide fulfillment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and convert inbound phone, email, and website leads into sales
• Act as the primary face of the physical store, assisting walk-in customers with machinery specifications and spare parts sourcing
• Monitor online order flows and ensure high customer satisfaction through clear communication
• Maintain the accuracy of the website backend, ensuring product descriptions, pricing, and stock levels match physical inventory
• Manage the data flow between the e-commerce website, Inventory Management System (IMS), and Point of Sale (POS) system
• Review online sales data and website traffic trends to forecast customer demand and seasonal purchasing cycles
• Maintain optimal stock levels for a high-SKU catalogue of brand-new spare parts to prevent online stockouts
• Coordinate the receiving, safe unloading, and storage of large earthmoving and agricultural units from manufacturers
• Supervise the Warehouse Worker to ensure rapid picking, packing, and dispatch of nationwide online orders
• Lead regular physical stocktakes and inventory audits to maintain data accuracy across all sales channels

About you

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a hybrid sales and operations role, preferably within e-commerce, parts distribution, or machinery retail
• Solid understanding of agricultural machinery, earthmoving equipment, or heavy mechanical parts lines is highly regarded
• Proven experience managing a small team or supervising warehouse/logistics personnel
• Strong competency with modern cloud-based Inventory Management Systems (IMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
• Proficiency in modern e-commerce platforms and digital freight/courier dispatch booking systems
• Current Forklift License or a willingness to obtain one upon hire
• A hands-on, proactive leadership style with a willingness to assist in the warehouse during peak periods
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle both commercial contractors and online retail buyers
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail when managing high-SKU digital data
