Job summary

Recruit4staff represents an established precision engineering business seeking a Sales Engineer in Liverpool. The role focuses on converting inquiries into orders, providing technical and commercial support, and generating detailed quotations from customer specs and drawings.

You will price tooling and materials and coordinate with manufacturing on each project. The position is permanent, with Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm and a Friday half-day.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Experience with CNC machinery, especially turning centres.
• Ability to produce detailed technical quotations.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or higher in Mechanical/Production Eng.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with customers and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Convert expressions of interest into new customer orders while providing technical and commercial support.
• Create detailed quotations from customer specifications and drawings.
• Price and order tooling and materials for projects.
• Act as the key link between customers and the manufacturing department throughout each project.

Job Details:

Job Role: As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for converting expressions of interest into new customer orders while providing technical and commercial support throughout the sales process. The Sales Engineer will create detailed quotations from customer specifications and technical drawings, price and order tooling and materials, and act as a key link between customers and the manufacturing department throughout each project.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Previous experience working within a precision engineering environment
• Experience with CNC machinery, particularly CNC turning centres
• Demonstrable experience producing detailed technical quotations
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent Engineering qualification, or an HNC or higher qualification in Mechanical or Production Engineering
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical engineering drawings
• The Sales Engineer will require strong communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and manufacturing teams

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Previous customer-facing technical sales experience within precision engineering or manufacturing
• Strong technical drawing interpretation skills
• Knowledge of tooling and materials used within CNC machining environments
• Previous experience estimating or preparing quotations for precision-engineered components
• Experience coordinating customer requirements with manufacturing or production departments would be advantageous for the Sales Engineer
