Job summary

PPG Industries Morayfield is seeking a Sales Assistant / Storeperson to support daily branch operations, prepare orders, manage stock and learn paint tinting and colour matching as part of development.

This role offers a Monday–Friday roster with some shift variation, hands-on warehousing and customer service across the branch, plus full product and systems training. SAP experience and a current forklift licence are valued, and a driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehousing or similar environment.
• Confidence with computers; SAP experience is valued.
• Experience in a trade desk, trade warehouse or similar is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to learn paint tinting and colour matching.
• Hold a current driver’s licence and forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pick, pack and process customer orders accurately and on time.
• Load and unload incoming deliveries.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Maintain warehouse safety standards and follow EHS requirements.
• Assist with stock control and inventory management.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve customers at the trade counter when required.
• Answer customer enquiries and process orders.
• Work with the branch team to support daily operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised warehouse and store environment.

As a Sales Assistant / Storeperson, you'll prepare customer orders, manage stock and support daily branch operations, with the opportunity to learn paint tinting and colour matching as part of your development.

No paint experience? No problem. Full product and systems training will be provided.

How you'll make an impact

Working as part of our Morayfield team, you'll help ensure products move safely and efficiently through the branch while delivering great service to our customers.

You'll:

Prepare, pick, pack and process customer orders accurately and on time

Load and unload incoming deliveries

Operate a forklift safely and efficiently

Maintain warehouse safety standards and follow all PPG EHS requirements

Assist with stock control and inventory management

Support continuous improvement initiatives that help us work smarter, safer and more efficiently

Serve customers at the trade counter when required

Answer customer enquiries and process orders

Work closely with the wider branch team to support daily operations

Maintain a safe, clean and organised warehouse and store environment

How you'll thrive

We're looking for someone with warehousing experience who is also happy to step in and help customers when needed. Paint industry experience isn't essential. We'll provide training on our products, systems and processes.

To thrive in this role, you'll:

Have some proven experience in a warehousing or similar environment

Be confident using computers, with SAP experience highly regarded

Ideally have experience in a trade desk, trade warehouse or similar environment

Have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Be willing to learn new skills, including paint tinting and colour matching

Work well as part of a close-knit team

Be comfortable with manual handling and being on your feet throughout the day

Hold a current driver's licence

Hold a current forklift licence, or be willing to obtain one
