Haymes Paint Horsham is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Horsham store network. You will work with the Store Manager to lead a small team, drive sales through coaching, manage stock, and ensure excellent customer service, including colour matching and tinting expertise.

The role requires a customer-focused mindset, POS experience, and a valid driver’s licence. We value safety, presentation, and team development in a vibrant retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering high levels of customer service in a retail environment.
• Ability to coach and develop a small team to improve performance and service.
• Knowledge of paint products, tinting, and colour matching to customer needs.
• Familiarity with stock control, stocktaking, and visual merchandising.

If you are seeking a position where you can provide great customer service, work with colours, provide professional knowledge and expertise whilst working as the stores ASM, Haymes Paint Horsham has the role for you!

Haymes Paint is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join the Store network to assist in leading the team in our Horsham Store. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the store, maximise sales opportunities through coaching and developing a team, maintaining store presentation and merchandising and leading store safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with leading, coaching and developing a small team
• Provide high level of customer service, assisting customers with product selection and technical advice
• Handle all paint related questions for all customers, including tinting paint products and colour matching to customer requirements
• Inventory control (goods receiving/stocktaking), stock replenishment
• Act as escalation point for customer inquiries
• Process POS and end of day transactions
• Assist Sales team in growing trade, industrial and retail business
• Drive safety first approach in store

About you:

• Previous experience working in a similar position in a customer service position in retail/sales or a keen interest in development into this position
• A genuine desire to deliver and be a leader for outstanding service
• Point of Sale (POS) system knowledge or appropriate tech-savvy
• Effective time management and planning capability
• Resilience to handle work related pressures such as workload, pace of conflict
• Autonomy to either follow processes or make meaningful value-adding improvement
• An unrestricted driver's licence
