Job summary

Our Town Fencing is seeking a Sales and Warehouse Assistant to join our Ballarat team. You will provide excellent customer service, help maintain store presentation, and support warehouse operations.

Location: Ballarat, Vic. Hours are 30–38 per week with an hourly rate of $36 for a casual role. Training is provided for forklift operations; MR licence is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or sales, preferably building supplies or home improvement.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Forklift licence preferred; MR licence is a bonus.
• Strong communication and customer-focused attitude.
• Physically fit and able to handle heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment (training provided).
• Load and unload deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Receive stock and manage inventory to maintain accurate levels.
• Pick and pack customer orders with attention to detail.
• Deliver excellent in-store and phone customer service.
• Assist customers with product selection and order processing.
• Support monthly stocktakes and maintain a clean, safe warehouse.

Our Town Fencing is currently seeking a Sales and Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Ballarat.

The Role:

You will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service, maintaining our store's presentation, and supporting the efficient operations of our warehouse.

Location: Ballarat, Vic

Working hours: Monday - Friday, every second Saturday 8-1.

Hours: 30-38 Hours a week

Hourly rate: $36 an hour at a SNR casual rate

Your day-to-day responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment (training provided if required).
• Load and unload deliveries for customers efficiently and safely.
• Receive stock and manage inventory to maintain accurate stock levels.
• Pick and pack customers' orders with attention to detail.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in-store and over the phone.
• Assist customers with product selection, order processing, and general inquiries.
• Support monthly stocktakes.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe and productive warehouse environment

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in retail or sales, ideally in building supplies or home improvement.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Forklift licence preferred (training available); MR licence a bonus.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Physically fit and comfortable handling heavy materials.
• Detail-oriented with a tidy organised approach.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
