Job summary

Argo Coal Management is seeking a senior HSE leader for Ironbark No 1 to drive health, safety and training across the operation. You will ensure systems are effective, meet compliance obligations, and equip our workforce to work safely and efficiently.

Lead incident investigations, manage risk assessments such as Bow-Tie, HAZOP, WRAC, and oversee safety systems including SharePoint, LMS, SISPAV and Pulse. A hands-on leader with strong frontline engagement is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ Health, Safety & Training management experience in coal mining; underground experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and SHMS requirements.
• Tertiary OHS qualification with coal mining risk and compliance experience.
• Internal Auditor qualification and experience.
• Experience with formal risk assessment methodologies including Bow-Tie, HAZOP and WRAC.
• Proven ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Experience with H&S systems including SharePoint, LMS, SISPAV and Pulse.
• Strong communication, influencing, coaching and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead health, safety and training management across the site and ensure systems are effective.
• Oversee risk management, emergency preparedness and legal compliance.
• Coordinate incident investigations and implement corrective actions to drive improvements.
• Develop and continuously improve SHMS, contractor management and training programmes.
