Job summary

Argo Natural Resources, a people-led mining business in Queensland, seeks a hands-on Health, Safety & Training leader based at Ironbark No 1 to oversee safety systems, risk management and compliance. You will influence at all levels, turning strategy into operational outcomes and leading competency development for the workforce.

The role demands a tertiary OHS qualification with coal mining risk experience, strong auditing skills, and the ability to foster a proactive safety culture across

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Health, Safety & Training management experience in coal mining.
• Underground mining experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislation and SHMS requirements.
• Tertiary OHS qualification with coal mining risk and compliance experience.
• Internal Auditor qualification and experience.
• Experience with formal risk assessment methodologies including Bow-Tie, HAZOP and WRAC.
• Proven ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Experience with H&S systems including SharePoint, LMS, SISPAV and Pulse.

Responsibilities

• Take a lead role across health, safety and training management across sites.
• Oversee and continuously improve safety systems, risk management and compliance.
• Ensure contractor management, emergency preparedness and legal compliance.
• Lead incident investigations and apply corrective actions.
• Foster a positive safety culture with frontline engagement.
