THE OPPORTUNITY

At Viva Leisure, we’re looking for a Safety, Quality & Compliance Officer to help us uphold our commitment to excellence in health, safety, and quality across our extensive network of health and wellness facilities.

As the Safety, Quality & Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for supporting key safety, quality and compliance activities across Viva Leisure. Your role will ensure that policies, quality standards, and safety protocols are understood, maintained, and followed. You’ll be reporting to and working closely with the Health, Safety, Quality, Environment and Compliance Manager and various teams to create a culture of continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Policy Management: Assist with a schedule for policy reviews and keep staff updated on new policies via internal platforms.
• Health and Safety: Administer Viva’s Health and Safety systems, assist in internal incident investigations, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and best practices.
• Incident Close off: Working with the operational team, ensure all incidents are closed off with appropriate controls in place.
• Quality Assurance: Support Viva’s certifications to ISO standards and monitor compliance across various areas including quality, environmental, and information security standards.
• Training & Collaboration: Advise staff on safety and compliance requirements, collaborate with different departments to promote safety policy adherence, and ensure employees are educated on WHS matters. The role will also assist with the State Safety committees.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and project management skills. If you have previous experience in safety, compliance, or operations, this could be the perfect fit. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Experience & Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety (WHS) or compliance role.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or currently working toward).
• Strong understanding of safety legislation, risk management, and auditing.
• Experience working within the health and fitness industry is highly desirable.
• Skills & Knowledge:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with a knack for problem-solving.
• Proven ability to manage compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement processes.
• Project management skills with a strategic, big-picture approach.
